Post-doctoral research associate
Research overview
Quang joined the group at the beginning of 2011 as part of the statistics and analysis team. He is currently currently involved in designing methods for a consensus genotype calling for Illumina genotyping data. He has been developing a pipeline for QC samples and SNP, and visuallization software for association analysis.
Quang completed a PhD in Computer Science at the Japan Advanced Institute of Science and Technology under supervision of Professor Ho Tu Bao where he worked on similarity for complex structure objects. He did his first postdoc in molecular biology at LIRMM with Professor Olivier Gascuel where he introduced many protein evolution models. He joined the group of Dr Richard Durbin on the 1000 Genome Project at the Wellcome Trust Sanger Insitute for 2.5 year postdoc before becoming a member of the Kwiatkowski and Spencer groups.
