Jacob Almagro Garcia

Informatics team

Jacob started working in the Oxford informatics team in Autumn 2011 and is also pursuing a DPhil alongside his work, supervised by Gil McVean.

He has a background in computer science and completed his Masters in Grid Computing and e-Engineering at Cranfield University. Jacob previously worked in the Malaria Team at the Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute in Hinxton where his principal role was to develop and optimize software to process, analyze, and share massive DNA sequence datasets. He is interested in algorithm design, bio-inspired algorithms, grid computing, bioinformatics and software development.
