Isar Nassiri

Senior Spatial Transcriptomics Computational Biologist

I am a Senior Spatial Transcriptomics Computational Biologist at the Oxford-GSK Institute of Molecular and Computational Medicine (IMCM). My core responsibilities are target and biomarker discovery using spatial profiling in neurodegenerative diseases, specifically Parkinson's disease.

I have education and work experience in Genetics (MSc), Bioinformatics (PhD), Computational Biology (postdoc researcher for two years, Microsoft Research - the University of Trento Centre for Computational and Systems Biology in Italy), Biostatistics and Machine Learning (postdoc associate for two years, Department of Biostatistics and Computational Biology, University of Rochester, USA), and Bioinformatics and Statistical Genetics (postdoc associate for four years, Department of Oncology, University of Oxford, UK). I worked as a Senior Bioinformatician and line manager at Oxford Genomics Centre (OGC) for two years and provided appropriate and timely data processing and analysis for the data being generated by OGC.
