I completed a 3-year BSc majoring in Genetics and Biochemistry at the University of Cape Town (UCT), South Africa. This was followed by an Honour’s in Human Genetics at the same university, during which I completed a 6-month research project in the pharmacogenomics and drug metabolism group under Prof Collet Dandara and Dr Nicholas Thomford. I then moved to England in 2018 to undertake an MSc in Pharmacology at the University of Oxford. My MSc project aimed to develop a novel fluorescent reporter construct to monitor global unfolded protein response activation with improved temporal dynamics, and was conducted under the supervision of Prof Colin Akerman and Dr Sarah Newey. I then joined the Chapman lab in September 2019 as a research assistant.
