The deadline for applications is 5pm on Sunday March 31st.

Students must be in year 12 to take part in the programme, must be over 16 years old by August 2019, and will be fully supervised at all times. While not obligatory, it will help to have done, or currently be doing, a biology related course.

Students will get the opportunity to extract DNA from saliva samples, use the polymerase chain reaction to amplify this DNA, and perform restriction digestions of the PCR products. There will also be an opportunity to meet lab leaders from throughout the centre, and find out more about the research going on at the Wellcome Centre for Human Genetics.
