Personal Info
I come from two small Greek villages,
- Polydrosos (Souvala), a picturesque village in mainland Greece, near the most famous Greek ski resort, and
- Kardamena, a small coastal village in Kos, peaceful during winter but extremely popular during summer...
Both of them are ideal places to visit, as you should discover yourselves given the chance.
I love good food, good music and good company, in ascending order.
I am an amateur bouzouki and baglamas player and an avid fan of rebetika. I also enjoy (some) contemporary Greek music, a bit of brit pop & alternative (The Smiths rule!) and some classic Jazz.
When I'm too old to work or do research, I will hopefully be based at a small house by the sea in Kardamena and go fishing every day with friends. Evenings should include playing music by the seaside while indulging to local spirits, always with the right company.
In the meantime, I will be probably occupied with unravelling some of the mysteries of the Human Genome. In order to make sure I will be well prepared to undertake all aforementioned activities however, I go back every summer to practice with devotion.
