Tiago Antao

Analysis team
Tiago Antao joined the team in 2012 and is working with Anopheles gambiae next-generation sequencing data. He is mostly concerned with quality assessment of the available datasets and contributing to devise a set of reliable SNP calls across the Anopheles genome. His long-term interests are; understanding speciation within the Anopheles species complex and the genetic basis of resistance to insecticides.
Tiago has a degree in Informatics Engineering and a masters degree in Bioinformatics. He did his PhD at the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine studying the spread of drug resistant malaria. His first post-doctoral position was analysing human population genetic data at the University of Cambridge.
