Spyros received his B.Sc. in biology from the University of Athens.He then completed a M.Sc. degree in Molecular Biology in Cellular Pathology from the same institution. He is currently in a project part of the InteGer consortium which is funded by a Marie Curie fellowship. His project tries to correlate gene expression to transcription factor binding site occupancy using next generation sequencing and microarray technology.
