A Centre researcher, Dr Cecilia Lindgren, has been selected to give one of the European Association for the Study of Diabetes (EASD) Rising Star Symposium Lectures.
The Symposium aims to identify promising young researchers and invite them to present their research at the EASD Annual Meeting. Candidates also receive a commemorative diploma.
Dr Lindgren spoke about her research group's recent work on genome-wide association studies (GWAS) relating to fat distribution, and how the identified loci could provide key information in the pathology of and future treatments for type 2 diabetes.
Dr Lindgren said: 'I feel very lucky and also very honoured to receive the EASD Rising Star award.'
