Research

I have worked on mostly Epidemiological and genetic epideiological problems till date.

My Master's thesis can be found here (pdf copy). I completed this under the supervision of Dr YY Teo and Dr Kerrin Small based at the Wellcome Trsut Centre for Human Genetics, University of Oxford. It deals with comparison of Linkage Disequilibrium (LD) structures. I was working on a new method to compare LD structures and was able to show that in general the suggested methods work better than existing procedures.

My Doctoral research includes exploring new statistical methods to understand genetic complexities underlying human diseases. I have so far worked on two simulation studies concerning power optimisation to track epistatic effects in genome wide scans. I am presently involved in writing up a software which should perform genome wide scans for epistatic effects, taking into accout the results from my simulation studies.

A recently presented poster at the European mathematical genetics meeting (may 2009) can be found here.
