Public engagement and outreach
Many staff at the Centre are engaged in public engagement, teaching and outreach projects.
Finding out more about our research
- Our blog has articles about various research projects in our centre, usually written by the researcher themselves.
- You can find lots of information about genetics by looking at our for schools page.
- Some of our researchers talk about their careers on the STEM Horizons website - you can read about Hayley from the Leedham group, Kate from the Hill group, and Rose from the Green group.
- Much of the information on individual research group pages are written for a non-specialist audience, so feel free to invstigate our research areas page, or the pages of individual groups.
Centre members take part in a number of public events every year. You can see some of the events we've taken part in on our 'Past Events' page.
You can listen to a podcast of our event at the Oxford University Museum of Natural History, called "The Head and the Heart", where researchers from the centre told stories from their lives in science, with a live musical accompaniment.
The Q&A after the performance can be seen on our vimeo page.
Visiting the Centre
Unfortunately, we are unable to allow members of the public to visit our facilities. However, if you are a member of a community or social group, for example, we may be able to bring a workshop to you. Please contact us for more information.
The centre runs a week-long work experience programme during the summer. For more details, including dates and how to apply, please see our work experience page.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the Centre's Public Engagement Officer, Brian Mackenwells.
