Wellcome Trust Centre for Human Genetics, Roosevelt Dr.
I am in the final year of a Wellcome-Trust-funded PhD in Genomic Medicine and Statistics. I am interested in how genetics can be used to improve medicine, and in how genomic data can be used to improve clinical care.
In my research I investigate the genetics underlying fertility traits, and mechanisms of inheritance. I have identified a locus that is associated with breeding performance in a reference population of mice, and I am currently working to identify causal variants within this region. In addition I am investigating parent of origin effects in human populations, using data from twin studies from The Netherlands and Australia.
