Animating malaria

malaria animation

This animation about research into the malaria parasite and its control has just been launched on YouTube. The animation introduces malaria and goes on to illustrate how DNA sequencing technologies can be used to better track drug resistant malaria parasites, and to track and contain them before they spread. It is the result of a collaboration between MalariaGEN and CGGH (both projects with home bases at the Wellcome Trust Centre for Human Genetics) and the Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute in Hinxton. It featured as part of the Sanger Exhibit at this year's Royal Society Summer Science Exhibition in London, which took place from 2 - 7 July 2013.
