Mohamed Bellahcene, MSc (Strasbourg), PhD (Basel)
Postdoctoral Fellow
Research summary
Between 2002-2005 I completed a postdoctoral fellowship with Professor Michael Marber at the Rayne Institute, St Thomas’ Hospital, London, investigating signaling pathways initiated by TNFα in the heart.
From 2005-2008 I worked with Professor Michael Cawthorne at the Clore Laboratory, University of Buckingham, on a fellowship from AstraZeneca on the validation of novel targets for diabetes and obesity therapy.
I joined the Department of Cardiovascular Medicine University of Oxford, as part of the Watkins’ group, in 2008. My current primary research interest lies in the role of cardiac energetics and downstream signaling in the development and persistence of cardiomyopathies.
