Marta received her BSc with Honors Degree in 2003, in 'Molecular Genetics in Biotechnology' at the University of Sussex. Her industrial placement year consisted of six months at Yamanouchi Research Institute working on lipid phosphatases activity, and six months in the Genomics group at the Wellcome Trust Centre for Human Genetics. She is one of the original people involved in the setting up and development of the Sequenom genotyping service and has worked on numerous collaboration projects with different groups throughout the Centre. Marta is currently in the final year of her DPhil in ‘Microarray Based Mutation Detection’, a project part of the Micro2dna consortium and funded by the European Commission.
