Joanna Zhuang

JoannaI am a postdoctoral researcher who has been working on developing a model selection method to make use of the public available genome-wide data from other studies to increase the power of any GWA study in identifying genetic loci contributing effects to complex human diseases.  I am also working on how to estimate and use of the identity-by-state and identity-by-descent information in the context of population-based whole-genome studies in order to detect and correct for population stratification and identify extended chromosomal segment that are shared identical-by-descent between very distantly related individuals.
