Expression quantitative trait loci (eQTL) are loci and markers on the genome that are associated with gene expression. In my project I shall be investigating existing, and where required developing new, methods to detect eQTL to estimates their effect and to perform meta-analysis across multiple eQTL data-sets. The project is in collaboration with GlaxoSmithKline.
I am currently focusing on the information from several eQTL datasets based on samples from the HapMap and 1000 genomes project.
