Ayman Al Haj Zen, MD, PhD
Ayman received his MD from the University of Aleppo in 1998. Following his clinical training in Medicine at University Hospital of Aleppo, he moved to Paris, where he received his Master of Science in Cardiovascular Physiology and subsequently a PhD in Biology and Physiology of Circulatory system from the University of Denis Diderot (Paris VII) in 2005. This was followed by postdoctoral positions in London Research Institute at Cancer Research UK and Bristol Heart Institute at University of Bristol. He is working at the Department of Cardiovascular Medicine and is based in the Wellcome Trust Centre for Human Genetics. His current research is focusing on molecular and cellular mechanisms regulating ischemia-induced angiogenesis.
