Dr Julian Knight, a Wellcome Trust Senior Research Fellow in Clinical Science at the Wellcome Trust Centre for Human Genetics (WTCHG), University of Oxford, has had his first book published.
"Human Genetic Diversity" fills a major gap in current literature, providing a concise and authoritative overview of the field of human genetic diversity. All the major classes of genetic variation and their functional consequences are described, highlighting landmark historical papers, cutting-edge research and possible future directions for research. To bring the topic alive, Dr Knight focuses on specific examples to illustrate important theoretical points, including a number of common diseases, evidence of selective pressures in human populations and insights into human evolution.
"Human Genetic Diversity" is written for degree and graduate level students across a range of subjects, including medicine, evolutionary biology, and biological anthropology.
